10/5/02: Four different schools win team titles in 28th
Willamette Invitational:
SALEM -- Four different schools walked away with team championships
Saturday in the 28th annual Willamette University Invitational
Cross Country Meet at Bush’s Pasture Park. The University
of Idaho women won the Open division, edging out Auburn (Ala.)
46-47 over 5,000 meters. The women’s team from Northwest
College of Kirkland, Wash. won the College division with 49 points,
well ahead of second place Chico State (84). On the men’s
side, the University of Portland easily won the 8,000-meter Open
race with 21 points. Idaho was second with 65. The College division
was won by Chico State, which won handily with 47 points.
